Collegiate Assessment of
Academic Proficiency

Every student completing an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of General Studies degree from Cowley College is required to take the CAAP (Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency) assessment in the areas of English, Computational Skills, and Reading.

The assessment should be taken in the semester in which the student plans to graduate.

Completion of these assessments is a requirement for graduation for AA, AS, and AGS degree seeking students.

Instructions for information about testing dates and signing up for a test are posted below. Testing will be conducted at the Arkansas City and Southside campuses.

There is no charge for this assessment. Registration for the CAAP assessment should be completed as early as possible, preferably at the time of spring/summer enrollment.

Registration may be completed through the Registrar’s office, your academic advisor, or online through Campus Connect as follows:

  1. Log on to Campus Connect.
  2. Go to "Academic Options" and select "Add/Drop Classes".
  3. Click on the appropriate term (semester).  Select “Non-Credit Classes Only” in the pull down options.  In the "Department" pull down menu select "Non-Credit: CAAP & WorkKeys Testing.
  4. Select the time and date for the session you wish to enroll in and click on "Add" Please note the location of the session to ensure that you register for the site of your choice. Those sessions marked "BC" or "Wright” for the location will be administered at the Arkansas City campus. Those marked "SSEC" will be administered at the Southside Education Center in Wichita.
