who meet the guidelines of the foster care program and program will be
administered by SRS
- Prior to July 1, 2006, 80% of the funding of student’s tuition/fees
was paid through SRS federal Chafee funding and 20% through unspent Kansas
Board of Regent scholarship funds. Recipients of the waiver prior
to 7/1/06 still fall under the old guidelines and KBOR will continue
to oversee.

Kansas Teacher service Scholarship

- $3,500 for RN/$2,500 for LPN maximum awards
National Guard Tuition Assistance
- Prior to FY03, program administered by the Adjutant General’s
Office
- Available to public and private 4 yr institutions, community colleges,
Vocational/technical schools & colleges & accredited independent
institutions
- $919,398 available funding to assist approx. 279 students
- Service obligation – Students agrees to complete their current
service obligation, plus three months service for each semester of assistance
received
Workforce Development Loan Program
- Implemented in FY 06
- Available to vocational/technical schools & colleges,
community colleges and vocational schools, or associate degree programs
at public postsecondary educational institutions
- A loan forgiveness program – recipient
agrees to live & work in Kansas in a field of work in which
they were trained until the loan is forgiven. Timeframe is ¼ of
the loan amount’s principal will be forgiven for each year
of living & working in Kansas
- The maximum loan amount each year is $2,000. Students
may obtain a maximum of 2 loans
- Funding source from KS Department of Labor
(WIA) & KS Department of SRS (TAF)

Almedia Greever Continuing Education Scholarship
This is available to graduates from Winfield High School in Winfield,
Kansas. The applicant is required to have completed a minimum of two
semesters of college course work and carry a grade point average of at
least 2.5. This is a $750 scholarship and all applications must be postmarked
by March 25, 2008. Copies of the application can be picked up from Lisa

Estelle Hamilton Gottlob Endowed Scholarship
A pplicants should be Cowley College students that graduated from Arkansas
City High School and plan to transfer to Wichita State University.
Recipients must have at least a 2.75 grade point average and is renewable
automatically if maintained. Awards will be made with regard to financial
need. Applicants must complete an essay as part of the application
process. The topic is “Describe a significant challenge, opportunity,
or setback in your life and the impact it has had on you. What contribution
do you hope to make as a student at Wichita State? (Your response should
reflect your leadership abilities outside the classroom.) Please visit

for your essay.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund -
Community College Transfer Scholarship Program
Must be transferring from a two-year college to a four-year institution

-Recipient of the award may choose any approved institution in which
to take the necessary training. -Applications must be received by the
scholarship Committee no later than June 1st.

--A resume, which should include college honors, interests and activities
--Work experience and job history

Army Emergency Relief Spouse and Children
Scholarship Program
Eligible applicants must be:
-Dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children of Army
Soldiers on active duty, retired or deceased while in active duty or
retired status. The children of Grey Area Reservists/National Guard are
eligible as retired members.
-Stateside applicants must be full time students.
-First undergraduate degrees only.
Completed applications deadline is March 1, 2008. The 2007-2008 Student
Aid Report (SAR) must be postmarked by May 1, 2008.
