Course Placement Guidelines

Cowley College offers courses to students with a variety of skill levels. The Cowley Course Placement Guidelines Table lists the mathematics, reading and English courses students will take based on their assessment scores.

Students must meet one of the above criteria for placement into the desired math class.

*To enroll in Calculus I, It is highly recommended the student have successfully completed college level Trigonometry within the last three years. Suggest checking transfer institution requirements.

Please note: Concurrent HS Students need 69 or higher Accuplacer score in Reading to qualify for academic general education courses or an 18 ACT Reading score. Career & Technical Education students (CTE) and C.N.A. students need at least a 58 Accuplacer or a 69 Compass Reading score.

# Concurrent HS Students must place in to College Algebra or better to take math courses.
