Emergency Medical Services provides acute medical care of the critically ill and injured on scene and during transport to a hospital or other care facility.

Our EMS programs provide education and training to prepare our students to become certified as a Emergency Medical Technician. At the basic level, the Emergency Medical Technician provides stabilization, basic life support and safe transportation of the trauma victim or the medically ill patient to a medical facility.

Once certified as an EMT, the student can continue the program to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be a Paramedic, also known as a Mobile Intensive Care Technician (MICT). A paramedic performs a wide range of medical procedures, including more advanced procedures such as administering drugs orally and intravenously, interpreting electrocardiograms (EKG's), and performing endotracheal intubations; diagnosing and treating minor injuries.

The Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program, CCEMTP, is designed to prepare paramedics and nurses to function as members of a critical care transport team.
