Basic EMS Tactical Operations
The response for this course has been outstanding and it is likely that we will offer it. We are still in the process of developing the curriculum and schedule, and do believe that it can be offered late this summer or in the fall. If you are interested, please please e-mail griffiths@cowley.edu so we can provide an update as more information becomes available.

RN to MICT Bridge Program
During the spring semester newsletter, we discussed the possibility of providing this program. The interest was certainly less than stellar so we plan to put this on hold. If you are interested, please e-mail griffiths@cowley.edu so we can provide an update if the course is developed in the future.

MICT Class of 2004
Our MICT students are now in the clinical education and training phase of the program. We would like to thank the following organizations who help with this education: Cedar Vale Nursing Center, Cedar Vale Rural Health Clinics, Cedar Vale Community Hospital, Via Christi St. Francis, Via Christi St. Joseph and William Newton Hospital.

MICT Program
We are now taking applications for our next daytime MICT program that starts in January 2005. If interested in the application and selection process, please visit our website. The selection process will occur in later summer or early fall.

Iraq
The conflict in the Middle East has deeply affected most all of us in the United States and throughout the world. At home, many of us know someone who has been sent to Iraq or elsewhere with the military.

Eric Stringer, a Cowley EMS student, had planned to enter the MICT program in 2005. In late April, he left with his company to complete work in Iraq. Before he left, he told us that he would be delighted for anyone to write or e-mail him while he is away. When he has contacted us from Iraq, we shall post his e-mail address on our EMS pages so that anyone wishing to contact him can do so. He is in our thoughts and prayers, and we wish him a speedy and healthy return to the United States.

Several Cowley MICT students have also ‘adopted' Erin West, a close friend of an MICT student, who is also working in Iraq with the US Army. She is stationed in the hospital pictured below. We wish her a speedy and healthy return as well.

We plan to send ‘care' packages to these folks and if you wish to participate in this activity, let us know and we can pick up any of your items. Any help to support our friends and troops would be appreciated.
