The Medical Coding Associate of Applied Science degree will prepare the student to enter the workforce as an entry-level medical coder. The well-qualified medical coder will gain proficiencies in records management and different levels of medical coding. The medicpdfal coder will also gain proficiencies in written and oral communications, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software programs. Students will acquire skills in proofreading, document formatting, computations, and administrative support. Professionalism and flexibility are also stressed in the program, as employers are looking for employees who exhibit these characteristics.
