The Pre-Agriculture curriculum is a
two-year transfer program designed to provide basic knowledge
in the field of agriculture. Students who graduate with the transfer
program are ready to move on to a four year institution. Many
opportunities lie within the agriculture industry. The industry
requires more formal training and hands-on experience including
business practices and application. The Associate of
Science Degree is recommended for students pursuing
a 4-year degree in any agriculture science field, ( i.e. Animal
Science, Soil or Grain Science, Pre-Vet, Food Science, etc.).
The Associate of Arts Degree is
recommended for students seeking a career in Agriculture Business,
Finance, and Education/Extension.
The program offers five core
courses: Livestock Science & Management, Animal Nutrition,
Soils, Crop Science & Management
and Agricultural Economics. These courses are all designed
to present information through classroom lecture and expose
students to application in the business and industry setting.
Many tours and lab sections in the field enhance the value
of each course and provide numerous industry contacts. |
