Mission Statement

The Social Science Department at Cowley County Community College provides students with quality instruction across a wide range of disciplines. Programs offered include, courses in anthropology, economics, education, early childhood, elementary education, secondary education, geography, history, political science, philosophy, minority studies, psychology, sociology, social work, religion, ethics, health and physical education, recreation, and sports medicine.

Service Learning

Psychology and Sociology courses require all students to complete a minimum number of service hours and a reflective assignment to make connections between real world situations and course concepts. Some Economics courses include a similar course requirement. Confirm with your instructor concerning the number of hours required and due dates. Submit the log sheet and corresponding response form upon the completion of your service hours and/or project.
