Your WebCT ID and Password
To login to your WebCT account you need two pieces of identification:
1. You WebCT ID
2. Your Student ID number.

WebCT Password

Note to Returning Students: You need to reset your password at the beginning of each semester. Your old password from last semester will not work. Your new password has been reset back to your WebCT ID. If you need a reminder how to set a new password, go to the Login Guide. If  you have forgotten your WebCT ID, read the following information.

Note to New Students: You need to determine what your WebCT ID is. Your default password is your WebCT ID. Once you login you should change your password.

The folowing information will help you determine your WebCT ID.

WebCT ID
To determine what your WebCT ID is you can either login to Campus Connect or use the guidelines below.

To find your WebCT ID through Campus Connect:
Go to Campus Connect. Log into Campus Connect using your Cowley ID number and your Campus Connect pin number.

After you log into Campus Connect, you will see your  Student Information/ Demographic Data, which includes your WebCT ID number.

Determine What Your WebCT ID is based on Your Name and Cowley ID Number
All cowley students and employees are required to have a cowley ID badge with their student / employee ID printed on the badge. Since your WebCT ID is based on your Cowley ID, you can use the following guidelines.

1. Your WebCT ID begins with your last name and is followed by the first letter of your first name. WebCT is case sensitive, so the first letter of your last name and the first letter of your first name are in capital letters. See the  Exceptions to Name listed below.
2. Your Cowley ID begins with the numbers 999 followed by a random 6 digit number.
3. Your WebCT ID number does not use the 999 but does use the same 6 digit numbers as your Cowley ID number.

Exceptions to Name

1. Longer than 12 characters
If your last name is longer than 12 characters; it will be truncated to the 12 character and the remaining characters will be dropped from your WebCT ID, as indicated in the 3rd example below.

For Example: If your name was John Doe and your Cowley ID # is 999654321 then your WebCT ID and Password are as follow:
WebCT ID: DoeJ654321
Initial Password: DoeJ654321

2. Special Characters
If you have a apostrophe (‘), a space or a hyphen (-) in your last name; it will be dropped from your WebCT ID.

For Example: If your name was Sally Madison-Gilbert and your Cowley ID# 999656892 (notice the G is not capitalized in the WebCT ID or password):
WebCT ID: MadisonGilbeS656892
Initial Password: MadisonGilbeS656892

3. Internal Capital Letters
If you have a capital letter in the middle of your name it will be capitalized in your WebCT ID.
(Unless you have it differently on your Cowley Admission Application. It will be as it appears on your Admission Application.) For verification please check Campus Connect.

For Example: If your name was Patrick O'Brien and your Cowley ID # is 999456789 then your WebCT ID and Password are as follows:
WebCT ID: OBrienP456789
Initial Password: OBrienP456789

For Example: If your name is Carol McDonald and your Cowley ID# is 999649351 (notice the D is capitalized in the WebCT ID or password):
WebCT ID: McDonaldC649351
Initial Password: McDonaldC649351

For Example: If your name is Doug Van Boening and your Cowley ID# is 999771594 WebCT ID: VanBoeningD771594
Initial Password: VanBoeningD771594
