HOMEWORKKANSAS

homeworkkansas

Any Cowley student may receive free online tutoring.  There is no cost to the student or the college!  Students simply need to connect to the following web site:  http://www.homeworkkansas.org.

Please note:  This is not limited to online students.  Any Cowley student may use the service.

Students can connect to tutors from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week. Homework Kansas is also available in Spanish, Sunday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to Midnight.

Students can get help online with introductory college course homework in English, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, Algebra I & II, Calculus, Geometry and Trigonometry with live tutors in one-on-one homework sessions.

Once connected to a live tutor, you interact with a tutor through chat technology, a whiteboard and a variety of easy-to-use tools. Most sessions last twenty minutes, though there is no specified time limit per session and no limit to the number of sessions a student may have.

Help is available in the following subjects:

  • Math: elementary, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry and calculus
  • Science: elementary, earth science, biology, chemistry, physics
  • Social studies: American History, World History, Political Science and more
  • English: spelling, grammar, book reports, essay writing and more

This is not intended to replace our face-to-face tutors available on campus.  However, if a student needs additional help, needs assistance at a time when the face-to-face tutors are not available, or does not want to come to campus, then this is another option open to them.

If the student is connecting from a location outside the state of Kansas (or in some rare instances where they may be in Kansas but their location is not recognized as such), then they might need a Kansas Library Card to access the system.  These cards are free and may be requested from our library by contacting Rhoda MacLaughlin, Cowley Library Director, in person at Renn Memorial Library, by telephone at (620) 441-5280, or by email at maclaughlinr@cowley.edu.   Students contacting her by email should include their Cowley ID, full name (including their middle name), and birth date.
