1990s
Tammy (Roberts) Swingle (1993) lives in Argonia, Kan., with her husband, Brien
Swingle and their two children, Mallory 4 and Mylee 2. Brien is chief of police
for the city of Argonia. Tammy played volleyball for Deb Nittler and was considered
a member of “the rowdy bunch.” She writes: “Deb taught us a
lot more than volleyball. She was a friend besides a coach. We learned to play
as a team, and get along as a team. She was like a second mom to a lot of us.
I just wanted to let Deb know how much I and the rest of the team looked up to
her, and what a great job she did as a coach and friend. She will be missed as
a coach, I’m sure.”
