Shadid Steps Down
George D. Shadid (Class of 1974) stepped down
as chief operating officer of Applebee’s International Inc. effective
Jan. 12. Shadid will remain on Applebee’s board of directors,
according to a story in the Wichita Business Journal.
Shadid joined Applebee’s 10 years ago as chief financial officer and became
chief operating officer in 2002. “George was an important part of seeing
our company through the past 10 years of unprecedented growth, when we added
nearly 1,300 restaurants and became the most dominant brand in casual dining,” said
Lloyd L. Hill, Applebee’s chairman and chief executive officer. There are
five Applebee’s in the Wichita area.
