Wanting to enhance the lab experience for its students, Cowley College has proposed
plans to construct a new lab/classroom in Galle-Johnson Hall.
The plan is to take two classrooms in Galle-Johnson Hall and convert them into
one large lab/classroom. The lab/classroom will be used to teach physics, physical
science, biology and chemistry. Other labs will be able to use it if needed.
“This will allow us to expand our course offerings and be able to look
into new programs,” Natural Science Department Chair Michelle Schoon said. “This
would enhance the physics and physical science classes by the quality of lab
work we would be able to do,” Schoon said. “
The rooms will be complete with gas hook ups and water.
Slade Griffiths, Cowley College vice president of academic affairs, said the
lab/classroom would be a valuable addition to members of the college.
“This will better serve the needs of the students and faculty at the college,” Griffiths
said. “It was approved based on faculty input.”
