Fifty units of blood collected at college drive
Cowley men's tennis coach Larry Grose rolls up his sleeve and gives
blood during the annual drive held Feb. 12.
Cowley County Community College's annual American Red Cross blood drive,
held Thursday, fell just short of its goal, according to figures released
by Director of Health Services Tracy Bergagnini.
While the goal of 60 people fell just four short, only 50 units of blood
were usable, Bergagnini said. Six units could not be used. Thirteen people,
however, were first-time donors.
"I'd like to thank everyone who helped with the day and those who
gave blood," Bergagnini said. "The volunteers helped everything
go smoothly."
The blood drive was held in the Earle N. Wright Community Room inside
the Brown Center on the main campus.
