Wednesday 'Feed the Hungry Day' at Cowley

Area food pantries could see their shelves restocked when Cowley County Community College hosts a campus-wide Feed the Hungry Day on Wednesday.

All Cowley sites--the main campus in Arkansas City and outreach centers in Wichita, Mulvane, Winfield, Wellington and Strother Field--will participate.

Boxes will be placed in all buildings to collect food items for the needy. All students, faculty, staff and administration are encouraged to bring a food item and deposit it in one of the boxes on St. Patrick's Day.

"I'd like to thank everyone in advance for their participation in this worthwhile project," said Dr. Pat McAtee, Cowley president.

Food items also will be collected Wednesday night. Admission to the Second Annual Cowley Idol competition in the Robert Brown Theatre is a canned food item or a $2 donation per person. Cowley Idol begins at 7 p.m.
