Cowley instructor helped develop new astronomy telecourse

Cowley College adjunct instructor Dennis Tabor served as a national consultant for Coast Learning Systems in developing a new astronomy telecourse, which will be distributed nationwide.

“Being a national consultant for the new astronomy video series has been a great learning experience and I am anxious to utilize the videos in my astronomy telecourse in the fall,” Tabor said. “Being chosen as a national consultant speaks volumes to the distance learning program at Cowley, and how it is viewed as being on the cutting-edge of educational standards.”

Tabor is also working on helping Coast Learning Systems develop a new biology telecourse and biology online course, which will be available in the near future.

Tabor, who has worked at Cowley since 2001, teaches astronomy and mathematics courses. He is a full-time science teacher for U.S.D. 259 at the Wichita eSchool.
