Gackstatter to conduct concert Thursday

Conducted by Cowley College director of instrumental music Gary Gackstatter, the Arkansas City Community Band will present its fifth concert of their 135th year Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilson Park Rotunda. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The ACCB will begin its performance with "The Circus Bee" march by Henry Fillmore, "The Swing March" and "Baby Elephant Walk" by Henry Mancini as well as Celtic and Brazilian pieces. They will also perform themes from "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Morning Has Broken", and "Chester".

Along with Gackstatter, Hans Judd also conducts the Arkansas City Community Band. The band will also hold a July 4th concert at the Methodist Church in Arkansas City prior to the fireworks display.
