Cutting Edge Technology for the 21st Century to be held April 12
As an outreach of Cowley College’s Technology Days held at Cowley’s
Arkansas City and Mulvane campuses in February, Cowley College will present
Cutting Edge Technology for the 21st Century April 12 at the Southside
Education Center in Wichita, located at 4501 East 47th Street South.
The event, which will take place from 6-8 p.m., is free and provides
an opportunity for high school and post-secondary students to learn about
the technical programs offered at Cowley College.
“This will allow people to see hands on things in the area of Career
and Technical Education,” said Sandy Randel, Cowley College coordinator
for the Career and Technical Education Department. “It will also show
where technology is now and help educate individuals for a career in technology.”
Randel said some individuals from Sedgwick County may not be aware of
Cowley’s Career and Technical Education Center in Mulvane and the
programs offered at the Southside Education Center, so the Technology
Day would serve as a way to let people know more about the programs offered
and where the campuses are located.
The event will feature representatives from the Workforce Development
Center, WIA, TIA, Job Service, Arbor, and the Kansas Department of Commerce.
Featured programs include: Automotive, Aviation, Child Care, CNA/CMA/Nursing,
Computer Forensics, Criminal Justice, Computer Support Specialist, EMT/MICT,
Entrepreneurship, Interior Design, Interpreter Training, Machining, Mechatronics,
Medical Transcription, Medical Coding, Legal Office Assistant, Non-Destructive
Testing, and Welding.
