Cowley plays host to State Large Group Music Festival

More than 2,000 students embarked on Cowley College’s Arkansas City campus on Thursday as they took part in the State Large Group Music Festival held in the Robert Brown Theatre.

“The State Festival is a huge event and we are so lucky to have the opportunity to share our facilities with them,” Cowley College director of vocal music Connie Donatelli said. “Josh Fleig (Cowley’s director of instrumental music) did an outstanding job organizing this event and we had many of our Cowley students that helped make it a huge success.”

Area schools’ bands, orchestra’s or choirs that participated in the event were:
Arkansas City, Winfield, El Dorado, Elk Valley, Udall, Caldwell, South Haven, Dexter, Sedan, Central-Burden, Flinthills, Eureka, Bluestem, Caney Valley, Mulvane, Belle Plaine, Augusta, Wellington, Douglass, and Augusta.
