Mugo named KJCCC cross country runner of the week

Fresh off his first place finish at the season-opening Allen County Invitational, Cowley College freshman Stanley Mugo was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Mugo placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:07. He also had great success in his first season running track for Cowley as he placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the indoor national championships and second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the outdoor national championships.

The Cowley cross country teams will be back in action Friday when they compete at the Friends University Invitational.
