Being prepared to handle a crisis situation

Sean Wallace and Mike YoderWith recent college campus shootings, Arkansas City Police Chief Sean Wallace and Sheriff’s Captain Mike Yoder informed Cowley College employees how to handle Crisis Situations in Our Schools Wednesday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Along with the Arkansas City Police Department, Winfield police, County Sheriff officers, the Southwest Kansas Regional SWAT Team, Ark City firefighters and paramedics, and the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center will participate in Active Shooter Scenario Training Thursday on Cowley College’s Arkansas City campus.

The training is intended to educate and prepare college security and staff for the possibility of an active shooting incident occurring on campus.
