Introduction to Teaching class sponsors Careers on Wheels event

Cowley College education majors sponsored a Careers On Wheels event for local sixth grade students as part of the Introduction to Teaching class project.

The event stemmed around an interdisciplinary teaching unit designed by education majors. The purpose of the unit and event was to introduce students to various careers where individuals spend a significant amount of their work day in a vehicle. Businesses from Arkansas City and Winfield donated their time and expertise as students rotated between the 15 different career stations.

Those present included: KSOK Radio, EMS, Fire, State Trooper, Sheriff and SWAT, Arkansas City Police Department, Animal Control, Farming, Cowley College Bus, Semi Truck, Hawks & Shelly Funeral Home, Garbage Truck, Smith Fire Ext, Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Hospice and Groves Oil.
