Cowley College Singers/Jazz Band give rousing performance
Showcasing the immense talent of its group members, the Cowley College
Singers and Jazz Band entertained the crowd during its annual spring
concert held Tuesday night in the Robert Brown Theatre.
Under the direction of vocal music director Connie Donatelli, members
of the Cowley College Singers performed “An American Dance Salute
Through The Decades”, which consisted of a medley of songs from
the 1920’s through the present decade.
Steve Butler served as the accompanist, and Jennifer Blatchford handled
the choreography.
The Cowley College Jazz Combo of Robert Hutson, Ben Byers, Derek Vaden,
and Robbie Williams performed a pair of songs, while the Cowley College
Jazz Band gave its rendition of Amber and Trinita, When I was a Lad,
Groovin’ High, Just Chattin, and You Win Some, You Blues Some.
Instrumental music director Josh Fleig led the Jazz Band through its
performance.
Another enjoyable evening of music is approaching as the Cowley College
Concert Choir/Concert Band Spring Concert will take place Tuesday, May
5 at 7 p.m. inside the Robert Brown Theatre.
Members of the Cowley College Singers are: Edna Anderson, Erin Burroughs,
Kelsey Ford, Nicole Hoerschgen, Robert Hutson, Jessica Latham, Chris
Loftin, Shawn Ming, JD Roudybush, Anna Stevens, Dori Stevens, Ian Sutton,
James Wearing, and Mitchell Wright.
Members of the Cowley College Jazz Band are: Robert Hutson, Richard Gould,
Kristen Tennyson, Matt Nelson, Kevin High, Baron Meeks, Mitchell Wright,
MiKayla Chiles, Tiffany Wright, Chris Loftin, Myka Weibe, Rich Abrams,
Derek Vaden, Jeremiah Johnson, Ben Byers, Alexander Munoz, and Robbie
Williams. Steve Butler accompanied the group on piano.
