Fell, area artists' work displayed in Winfield

Teaming with other area artists, Cowley College art instructor Mike Fell is helping manage “The Artists’ Alley Co-Op Gallery” in Winfield.

More than 300 people attended the Gallery’s grand opening on Saturday. The Gallery is located at 114 E. Eighth Street in Winfield, and is open Thursday evenings from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost to enter.

Fell has several sculptures made of stone or clay on display, as well as a piece of pottery. All of the art pieces in the Gallery are for sale.

Along with Fell, Artists exhibiting include several that have strong ties to the Arkansas City/Winfield area, including Judi Groves, former Cowley College art instructor.

Winfield artists whose work is on display include Cindi Altman, Dorothy Fisher, Lynn Felts, Dave Chapman, and Martha Fitzwater.

There is also student work by Brent Turner, and Aaron Palsmeier, who will be attending Cowley College next year on an Art scholarship and was a best of show winner in last year’s Fine Arts Day Prodigee Art competition.
