Lady Tigers sign post player from Lebo High School

Coming off a 23-9 season, the Cowley County Community College women’s basketball team is focusing on adding depth to its inside game. The recent signing of 5-9 post player Nikki McDaniel should help in that department.

McDaniel averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals as a senior at Lebo High School.

“Nikki is a great all-around player who can penetrate and score,” Cowley head coach Stephanie Smith said. “She also has a great vertical leap and has a natural feel for rebounding. We are excited to have her.”

This past season, McDaniel was named a unanimous All-League selection in the Lyon County League. She also was named Third-Team All-State, and a Second-Team All-Area selection by the Emporia Gazette.

Smith expects McDaniel to play either the small forward or power forward position for the Lady Tigers.
