Finishing up a solid high school
career, Oxford’s
Lacey Rowe will look to continue her success on the hard wood as she
recently signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Cowley County
Community College.
Rowe, a 5-8 guard, averaged 14.5 points, 7.3 rebounds,
3.4 steals, and 3.0 assists for the Lady Wildcats this past season. Three
times she has been named an All-District and All-South Central Border
League performer, and twice she was named Honorable Mention All-State.
Cowley head coach Stephanie Smith, who guided the Lady
Tigers to a record of 23-9 in her first season at the school, is looking
forward to having Rowe as part of the Cowley program.
“Lacey is an athletic guard who can do
a little bit of everything,” Smith said. “She can score
from both outside and inside. She also has the ability to slash to
the basket and is a very active rebounder. Her biggest asset is her
toughness; she brings physical and mental toughness to the floor. Lacey
also has very strong moral values that make her a great person to be
around.”
