Cowley baseball recruits lead Enid to American Legion title

Three Cowley College baseball recruits helped lead Enid, Okla., to the American Legion Baseball World Series title with a 7-6 win over Twin Cities, Wash., Tuesday in Rapid City, S.D.

Tiger recruits Tyler Fleming of Enid High School, Matt Peck from Cimarron High School, and Taloga High School’s Zac Berg each played major roles in Enid’s World Series title run, and each was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Enid went 5-1 in the double elimination tournament, and finished the season with a record of 62-11.

“Winning a World Series is a pretty special accomplishment,” Cowley head baseball coach Dave Burroughs said. “I hope they can carry the momentum of winning the World Series into our season. All three of those guys have a chance to be very good players at this level.”
