Anthony named to All-Region VI tournament team

After scoring 37 points in his team’s two games at the Region VI Tournament, Cowley College sophomore guard Julio Anthony was named to the All-Region VI Tournament team.

Anthony made 12-of-23 shots from the floor, and went 7-of-11 from three-point range in the Tigers’ 62-50 win over Pratt and 67-61 loss to second-seeded Cloud County.

Anthony finished the season averaging 12.9 points and 4.2 rebounds. He made 91-of-106 free-throw attempts as he shot 86 percent from the line.

Coffeyville ended up winning the Region VI title with a 66-57 win over Independence Tuesday at Wichita State University’s Charles Koch Arena.
