Playing its final tune up before the regional tournament, the No. 5-ranked
Cowley College women’s tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Johnson
County Sunday in Overland Park.
The Lady Tigers got strong performances throughout their lineup as they
improved to 8-2 on the season. Cowley appears to be the clear cut favorite
to win the regional tournament, which will be played Friday and Saturday
at Wichita’s Riverside Tennis Center.
Seeding for the regional tournament will take place Thursday night.
“I anticipate being seeded No. 1 in all nine spots,” Cowley head
coach Brad Louderback said.
In the win over Johnson County, Cowley won 24 of 29 doubles games and
lost only two sets in singles play.
