Eight Tigers named Region VI Academic All-Americans

Maintaining excellence in the classroom while playing collegiate athletics, eight Cowley College student-athletes were named 2007-08 National Junior College Athletic Association Region VI Academic All-Americans.

Tiger cross country and track and field athletes Bethany Schmidt and Dakota Price led the way with 4.0 grade point averages. Cowley College baseball player Chase Roten and Lady Tiger softball player Heather Davis each compiled 3.95 GPA’s, while fellow Lady Tiger softball player Emily Zimmerman joined the other four as Distinguished Academic All-Americans with a 3.80 GPA.

The other three Cowley College student-athletes to be named Academic All-Americans were: Tiger men’s tennis player Diego Motivar (3.78 GPA), women’s track and field athlete Sasha Oliver (3.78 GPA), and men’s basketball player Preston Brown (3.73 GPA).
