Cowley baseball ranked 10th in preseason poll

Coming off a JUCO World Series appearance in 2007, the Cowley College baseball team is ranked 10th in the pre-season NJCAA Division I baseball poll.

The Tigers return nine sophomores and have added several talented freshmen. Cowley finished last season with a record of 47-18 overall and 26-10 in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division. The conference title was the Tigers’ 11th in the past 13 seasons.

Cowley will open its season Feb. 12 when they play at Seminole State College at 2 p.m. Cowley will then return to Arkansas City to host Maple Woods Community College in a doubleheader Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.

Other Jayhawk Conference schools that appeared in the rankings were, Butler Community College (16th) and Seward County (25th).
