Damien Lolar, a Arkansas City native and 2005 graduate
of Cowley College, was recently selected by the Colorado 14ers in the
fifth round of the National Basketball Association Development League
draft.
Lolar averaged 16.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the 2004-05
season at Cowley. Prior to coming to Cowley, Lolar averaged 18.6 points,
6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists at Labette Community College.
After Cowley, Lolar went on to West Texas A&M where he was named
a NCAA Division II Second Team All-American by Daktronics as a senior.
He also earned Lone Star Conference South Division Player of the Year
honors. He was named First-Team All-Lone Star Conference South Division
his junior and senior seasons. He averaged a league-leading 23.3 points
and 8.3 rebounds as a senior.
Lolar played with Bucaros de Bucaramanga in Columbia this past summer.
He joins a Colorado 14ers squad that made it all the way to the 2007
NBA D-League Championship Game.
