Cowley
College cross country head coach Vince DeGrado (pictured) will be hosting
the Tiger Distance Running Camp August 6-9.
The camp is designed to educate young student-athletes about how to become
a better distance runner and leader. DeGrado and current Tiger runners
will teach campers the key elements of becoming a great distance runner.
Attendees will also take part in team building activities to learn what
it takes to be a leader on a team, along with presentations that the
campers can take home with them to help with a successful cross country
season.
The camp will consist of morning and evening runs, classroom sessions
covering running topics, and recreation periods that include volleyball,
basketball, billiards and swimming to name a few.
In two years at Cowley, DeGrado has coached three NJCAA all-Americans,
four NJCAA Coaches Association all-Americans, 12 conference champions,
and a region champion. He is Level 2 certified in Endurance and is currently
working towards Level 3 status.
Camp tuition is $100 for day campers or $160 for overnight campers. This
includes housing, meals, running material, t-shirt and a water bottle.
For more information or to register for the camp, contact DeGrado at
(620)218-8126 or at degradov@cowley.edu.
