With
25 teams taking part in Cowley College’s 13th annual Tiger Skins/Brian
Groves Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday at the Arkansas City Country
Club, the event was once again a huge success.
Tom Saia, director of athletics at Cowley, was pleased with the amount
of money raised for Tiger Booster Club scholarships.
“I want to thank the people that participated and helped make this another
successful tournament,” Saia said. “A number of people contributed
to make this a successful event. It’s a great way to kick off the school
year.”
Three Cowley College employees and a former Tiger baseball player teamed
to win the low gross (52) at the tournament. Jeff Fluty (athletic trainer),
Nathan Pryor (admissions representative), Bob Moffatt (welding instructor),
and Aaron Robbins (member of baseball team in 1998-1999) were the winning
foursome.
The team of Brad Schwintz, Chris Gray, Todd Ball, and Mike Sparks took
home the title for low net. Jan Pringle, Terry Boyer, Sue Kolts, and
Chris Groves finished second in the low net category.
