Cowley tennis teams have four players earn ITA All-American honors

ITA All-American honors

Following on the heels of successful tennis seasons, both the Cowley College men and women’s tennis teams had four players named Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Americans.

Sophomore Kasia Siwosz received All-American honors in singles and doubles for the second straight year, while her doubles partner Karolina Porizkova earned All-American honors for her play in doubles for the second consecutive season.

The Tiger men’s doubles team of Richard Filkuka and Diego Motivar also garnered All-American honors.

Cowley head coach Josh Cobble felt all four sophomores were deserving of the award.

“It is great to see these four individuals cap off their careers at Cowley with due recognition as being All-Americans,” Cobble said. “They have done a great job here at Cowley and wish them the same success as they continue on.”

Siwosz finished as the second ranked women’s junior college tennis player, while she and Porizkova ended the season as the third ranked doubles team.

Filkuka and Motivar ended the year as the third ranked doubles team and helped the Tigers place 11th at the NJCAA National Tennis Tournament.

All four Tiger tennis players have signed to play for NCAA schools next season.
