Cowley takes partial squad to Tabor Invite

Sasha OliverCowley College athletes that will not be competing at the KU Relays held Thursday through Saturday in Lawrence, got an opportunity to compete at the Tabor Invite Wednesday in Hillsboro.

Jordan Pote and Willy Lucero continued to do well in the pole vault as they placed third and fourth, respectively. Sasha Oliver (pictured) returned for the Lady Tigers after missing time with an injury and placed third in the triple jump (35-5).

“Sasha came back from injury and triple jumped real well,” Cowley College head coach Mark Phillips said.

The KU Relays will begin today at 4:30 p.m. and will wrap up Saturday afternoon. Tiger athletes will be competing against some tough NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and junior college schools.

“Our athletes will compete at a high level against some really good competition,” Phillips said. “This will serve as a chance for them to learn how to compete in a big arena.”
