Looking
to add depth to its squad, the Cowley College women’s basketball
team recently announced the signing of five in-state players.
The Lady Tigers lose just one starter from last season’s team,
which finished 21-12 overall and 14-4 in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern
Division.
The new signees are, Keyona Jennings, a 6-foot-1 forward from Wichita
Southeast and her high school teammate Kyeisha Davis (5-foot-7 guard).
Kamilah Guest, a 5-foot-9 forward from Wichita South will also be
a valuable addition to the squad.
Brianna Gonzalez, a 5-foot-8 guard from Andover High School, and
Jaima Saunders (5-foot-6 guard) from Kansas City Washington High
School round out the recruits.
Gonzalez was named second-team all league and honorable mention all-state
as a senior at Andover.
“We are excited to have each of these young ladies in our program,” Cowley
head coach Todd Clark said. “We believe that each of them will be an
integral part of our program in the future. With these players and our returning
players we hope that they will help us be even more competitive next season.”
