Sackett named January Student-Athlete of the Month

Austin Sackett, a freshman defensive midfielder for the Cowley College men’s soccer team, was recently named the school’s January Student-Athlete of the Month.

Sackett started 12 games for the Tigers during their inaugural soccer season and served as one of the team captains. The Derby native helped the Cowley soccer team qualify for the Region VI playoffs.

Known as a strong communicator, Sackett has translated his success on the playing field into the classroom as well.

The Business major recently completed 16 hours of course work during his first semester at the school.
