Tackett named May Student-Athlete of the Month
Breayle Tackett, a sophomore first baseman/pitcher for the Cowley
College softball team, was named the school’s May Student-Athlete of
the Month.
After a stellar high school career at Winfield High School, Tackett has
put together two successful seasons at Cowley. As a freshman, Tackett
batted .480 and was named a First-Team All-American, First Team All-Region
VI, and First-Team All-Conference performer. She drove in 70 runs and
hit a school-record 30 doubles.
As a sophomore, she helped lead Cowley to its sixth straight conference
title and an undefeated record in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division
(26-0). She is currently batting .506 with 11 home runs, 20 doubles,
and 67 RBI. Her 50 doubles in her career are a school-record. She also
has gone 7-1 with a 2.60 earned run average on the mound.
The pre-pharmacy major has accumulated a 3.6 grade point average over
three semesters at Cowley.
