Cargill pitches Cowley past Fort Scott 7-1
After allowing a home run to the second batter of the game, Cowley College
freshman pitcher Zach Cargill did not allow another run to cross home
plate as the Tiger baseball team defeated Fort Scott 7-1 Saturday night
at Wichita's Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
The Tigers advance to play Seward County Sunday night at 7 p.m. The game
can be heard on KSOK Radio 95.9 FM. Seward County defeated Hutchinson
5-4 on Saturday.
Cargill scattered eight hits, while going the distance on the mound.
Cargill is now 8-0 on the season and Cowley improves to 42-12 overall.
Freshman B. J. Misialek went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in, while freshman
shortstop Chance Ross went 4-for-4. Caled Bass drove in three runs, and
Ryan Hege added two doubles as Cowley had 14 hits in the win.
Tyler Spear lasted only two innings on the mound for Fort Scott and was
tagged for seven hits and four runs. Fort Scott falls to 27-25 on the
season.
