25 attend Cowley College Cross Country Camp
Taking part in the Cowley College Cross Country Camp held Wednesday through
Saturday, 25 students entering ninth through 12th grade gained knowledge,
inspiration, and the foundation to begin his or her most successful
cross country season.
The camp consisted of morning and evening runs, classroom sessions covering
running topics, and recreation periods that included volleyball, basketball,
billiards and swimming just to name a few.
Camp participants especially enjoyed running the trails at Camp Horizon
and the Chaplin Nature Center in Arkansas City.
“All of the campers had a great time,” Cowley head cross country
coach Vince DeGrado said. “They loved the trails. What surprised me the
most was the distance that some of them came, we had kids from Kansas City,
Bonner Springs, Sallisaw, OK, Great Bend, Topeka, to Osage City, pretty much
ALL over.”
Camp participants were: Cally Aspegren, Colin Jokisch, Caitlyn Williams,
Joel Haverkamp, Pete LaMoe, Jessica Horn, Cody Johnson, Ben Dodson, Michael
Netz, Brandon Sparks, LeighAnn Omarkhail, Michael Degan, Alstin Benton,
Erin Sullivan, Samantha Milsap-Peoples, Jacob Bull, Brock Nooney, Matt
Baker, John Stafford, Nicholas Ward, Jordan Nelson, Jessica Kuhlman,
Dylan Filburn.
