Cowley College head men’s basketball coach Tommy DeSalme and assistant coach Donnie Jackson are offering the Success is a Choice boy’s basketball camp July 13-16 inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.

Assistant coaches, players, and other area coaches will be assisting coach DeSalme and coach Jackson. Coach DeSalme has led his teams to three NAIA National Tournaments and two Junior College Region Tournaments. Coach DeSalme & Coach Jackson will be entering their first season with Cowley College Tiger basketball after successful coaching stints at Independence Community College, Kansas Wesleyan University and Sterling College.

The first session of the Success is a Choice basketball camp is for players who will be entering grades 2-6 next fall. The camp will run from 9:30 a.m. until noon each day. This is a skill development camp.

The second session of the camp is for players who will be entering grades 7-12 next fall. The camp will run from 1:30-4:00 p.m. each day breaking down the concepts of footwork/shooting/team offense/defense.

The cost to attend the camp is only $40 per person.

The purpose of the camp is to teach and build upon basic fundamental skills through repetition, drills, and league competition in an atmosphere of encouragement and fellowship.  During the week, campers will learn dedication, sportsmanship, and teamwork. This facilitates the development of sacrifice, pride, discipline, and respect, all of which attributes that contribute to successful athletic competition, as well as personal growth.
