Lady Tigers win 10th straight, pound Neosho County 73-36

With the Region VI Playoffs less than a week away, the Cowley College
women’s basketball team appears to be peaking at the right time.
The Lady Tigers made it 10 wins in a row with a 73-36 victory over
Neosho County Wednesday night at W.S. Scott Auditorium.
The victory assures Cowley of a third place finish in the Jayhawk Conference
Eastern Division as they are now 22-7 overall and 13-4 in the conference.
On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers were in control from the start as they
jumped out to a 16-4 lead and held a 43-15 advantage at the end of the
first half. Cowley continued the onslaught in the second half as they
went on to the 37-point victory.
Cowley dominated the glass as they out-rebounded Neosho County 45-24.
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was sophomore Bebe Holloway, who
finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and six steals.
Gabbie Curtis added 12 points, four rebounds and five steals, while JaNeil
Robinson, chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.
Cowley forced the Lady Panthers into 27 turnovers and held Neosho County
to just 36.2 percent shooting from the floor. Incredibly, the Lady Panthers
went 0—for-12 from the free-throw line.
Ashley Milian led Neosho County with 18 points and eight rebounds. The
Lady Panthers are now 11-18 overall and 6-11 in the Jayhawk East.
The Lady Tigers will wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they
travel to play Allen County at 6 p.m. The Lady Red Devils have struggled
to a record of 5-24 overall and 2-15 in the conference.
