Lady Tiger basketball camps approaching

Having won 114 games over the past five seasons as head coach of the Cowley College women’s basketball team, Todd Clark, along with assistant coach Katrina Colwell, will pass along their knowledge of the game during a pair of basketball camps held in June at W.S. Scott Auditorium.

The first session of the camp will take place June 1-3 from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is for girls in grades one through 12. Different age groups will work with their appropriate skill levels. The second session will run July 21-23. The cost of the camp is $50 per session. Cost includes a camp t-shirt.

The skill-building camp will help participants better play their position. The coaches will cover all of the physical skills and moves needed, coupled with a tough mental approach to the game.

Camp participants will develop their offensive skills, with a focus on ball handling, shooting, passing, offensive moves and footwork.

Coach Clark and coach Colwell helped Cowley win 12 of its final 13 games and finish with a record of 24-8 last season. Seven of the eight sophomores on the 2008-09 team will move on to play at a four-year school.

Along with the success the coaches have had at Cowley, they both have experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level. For more information or to register for the camp, contact coach Clark at (620) 441-5226 or coach Colwell at (620) 441-5300.
