Lady Tiger soccer opens with scrimmage
With the opening game just eight days away, the Cowley College women’s
soccer team took part in a scrimmage versus the Kansas Force Aggressors
club team Saturday in Arkansas City.
With just 10 players suited up for the game, the young Lady Tiger squad
performed well for its first time out.
“We have a very talented group,” Cowley head coach Roberto Dos
Santos said. “What we are lacking is depth.”
The scrimmage was broken down into four 15-minute periods.
“They are still getting to know each other, so we will continue to get
better at working together,” Dos Santos said.
The Tiger men’s soccer team will take part in its first scrimmage
of the season when they host the Ponca City club team Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The game will be played at the college’s Soccer/Track and Field
Complex, located at 223 Pierce in Arkansas City.
“This will be a great opportunity for us to get a lineup put together
as we have yet to determine who our starters will be,” Dos Santos said.
The Lady Tiger soccer team will open the regular season Aug. 26 at Neosho
County, while the men will play its first regular season game Sept. 4
when they host Independence.
