Misialek named January Student Athlete of the Month

B.J. Misialek, a sophomore engineering major from Edmond, OK, was recently named Cowley College’s January Student Athlete of the Month.

Misialek has a combined grade point average of 3.78.

Misialek, who plays second base for the Tiger baseball team, has been a stellar performer both on the field and in the classroom. As a freshman, Misialek batted .377 with a team-leading nine home runs and 58 runs batted in as he helped Cowley capture its third straight conference title. Misialek also helped Cowley win the Region VI championship and advance to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, CO. where he belted two home runs in the Tigers’ three games.

Misialek capped his freshman season by being named second-team all-conference. He enters the 2010 season as one of the leaders on the team due to the example he sets on and off the field.
