Custar named February Student Athlete of the Month

Jory Custar, a sophomore business administration major from Sharon, OK, was recently named the February Student Athlete of the Month.

Custar is a member of the cross country and track and field teams, is a Cowley Captain, a Student Ambassador and serves as a Big Brother.

Custar, who is the defending conference champion in the outdoor 800-meter run, also broke the indoor school-record in the 800-meter run when the Tigers competed at the University of Nebraska Holiday Inn Invite on Jan 16. He followed up that performance by winning the 600-yard run at the Missouri Southern University Radio Shack Indoor Invitational.

Last season, Custar ran as part of the conference champion and national runner-up 4x800-meter relay team, which holds the indoor school record, and Earned All-American honors.

Custar finished last semester with a grade point average of 3.85.
