Blackim selected as September Student-Athlete of the Month
Sophomore tennis player, Jamie Blackim, has been named Cowley College’s
September Student-Athlete of the Month.
Blackim, who is from Broken Arrow, OK, has enjoyed tremendous success
on the tennis court and in the classroom.
“She is an overall great individual,” Cowley head tennis coach
Josh Cobble said. “I am extremely proud of her. She does everything she
needs to do in order to be successful.”
As a member of the Lady Tiger tennis team, Blackim was the Region VI
champion in both No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles as a freshman. She went
on to advance to the quarterfinals of both singles and doubles at the
NJCAA National Tennis Tournament and helped Cowley place eighth nationally.
This fall, Blackim and Natalia Medina are the second-ranked doubles team.
Along with her tennis accomplishments, Blackim is a very involved student
at Cowley. She serves as a Cowley Captain, Student Ambassador, Tutor,
Resident Assistant, and is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
