267.00 ACADEMIC FRESH START

Academic Fresh Start would allow a student at Cowley who has a poor or marginal academic record the opportunity to continue working toward an associate degree or college certificate without being burdened by his/her past record.

The Vice President of Academic Affairs shall appoint an Academic Record Review Committee for each academic year composed of a minimum of three members. The student must not have attended an institution of higher education for at least three consecutive years.

Academic Fresh Start may be granted only once. If granted, the “old” transcript will be kept in a special folder and the new transcript will carry a notation that the previous record has been deleted, and the calculation of a grade point average and hours toward graduation begin with that date. However, the attempted hours will be noted on the transcript. The exclusion of grades shall not become effective until the student has completed at least 12 credit hours at CCCC(cannot use S/U grades) and earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
