433.00 SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS STANDARDS FOR RECIPIENTS OF FINANCIAL AID
The college recognized the need to provide financial assistance to qualified students. College personnel are available to assist students through the process. The following procedures will be used in awarding financial aid.
A student's eligibility for financial aid will be evaluated on approved need, enrollment in a degree or a certificate program, and availability of funds.
Financial aid shall be awarded up to a maximum of ninety-five attempted College hours.
Financial aid satisfactory progress is defined as regular class attendance and completion of 67% or more of courses attempted with a "C" or higher grade. A complete withdrawal from courses by students that receive Federal Aid, will result in suspension of further Federal Aid.
Class attendance and academic standing will be evaluated at midterm of each semester. At midterm, students who are not making satisfactory progress in the classroom will be notified in writing that failure to meet satisfactory academic progress by the end of the semester will result in financial aid suspension.
Financial aid suspension is defined as a period of time in which the student will not be able to receive financial aid until satisfactory academic progress has been met.
The student must complete a minimum of 67% of the hours attempted each semester and earn the following grade point average, depending upon the student's hours attempted:

Cumulative GPA Required

The student's financial aid will be reinstated after he/she meets satisfactory academic progress. It is the student's responsibility to re-apply for financial aid and to notify the financial aid office that satisfactory academic progress has been met.
Students have the right to appeal according to terms outlined in the Cowley County Community College Policy Handbook, #432.00.
